The First 1000 Days of Life

The first 1000 days of life, starting with conception, is the most critical time in a child’s life to receive proper nutrition. If deprived of good nutrition, babies and young children are susceptible to stunting, which has an irreversible negative impact on a child’s physical and mental development.

Undernutrition is one of the main contributing causes of death in children under five, worldwide. Children who are undernourished have weakened immune systems and are more likely to die from common childhood infections.
