ADRA Canada is honored to partner with the First Nations tribes of the Wikwemikong community on Manitoulin Island, as they work to provide positive opportunities for their youth to grow and develop. The OALE program is a wilderness based, canoe expedition adventure that is designed to develop leadership skills in First Nations young people. As we celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day with First Nations groups across Canada, we wanted to share this video of a 10 day canoe trip down the French River with a group of youth from Wikwemikong. In their own words, we hear how these kinds of experiences are changing the direction of their lives.
